Peebles to Biggar

The walk today was on the road and then on the path of an old rail line. My left leg was sore when I woke up this morning, so I wore the knee brace as advised by the Physio. For the first hour of the walk, I had minor pain at the knee but then it started to calm down and after that it only gave me a reminder every now and then that it wasn’t 100%.

The first part of the walk was along the river out of Peebles and was a nice walk and tested my knee as it was it was along a rough path and had some small climbs/descents.

I then went onto the road section of the walk which was scenic, and I had some good views of the countryside.

There lots of passenger jets flying across the sky and in the photo below you can see the vapour trails that they have left.

The rail section of the trip was very boring as I was only walking through farm fields and there was nothing to really see.

The trail into Biggar took me through the middle of a golf course (second golf course I had to walk through in two days).

Biggar is a small-town set on one main street where my hotel was located on one side and the pub for dinner across the other side of the street.

As soon as I got to the hotel, I iced my knee as per the Physio instructions and to ensure I didn’t waste the ice, I used some of it with a couple of vodka, lime & lemonade cans from the supermarket to help rehydrate while I was resting.
